29th percentile - higher than 29% of all known CVEs

Summary

ImageMagick before 6.9.13-57 and 7.x before 7.1.2-32 contains a memory leak in the YUV encoder, which fails to release allocated memory when a specific operation fails. Crafted input can trigger the failing operation, leaking memory and potentially exhausting resources.

Risk Assessment

Repeated memory leaks can exhaust resources and cause a denial of service. This affects the stability and availability of the application.

Recommendation

Update ImageMagick to version 6.9.13-57 or 7.1.2-32 (or later). Monitor memory usage of processes handling untrusted images.
