Summary

JeecgBoot through 3.9.5 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows low-privileged authenticated users to modify message templates via PUT /sys/message/sysMessageTemplate/edit. Attackers can obtain template ids from the unguarded list endpoint and overwrite system notification titles and content, delivering attacker-supplied text or links to other users.

Risk Assessment

A low-privileged user can alter system notification content, potentially leading to phishing, misinformation, or distribution of malicious links to other users of the system.

Recommendation

Update JeecgBoot to a version newer than 3.9.5 as soon as possible; until then, restrict access to the /sys/message/sysMessageTemplate/edit endpoint and verify user permissions.
