CriticalCVSS 9.8
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

SQL Injection (CWE-89) exists in the SOAP GetUser method of the /preapproval.asmx endpoint in Channel Software WebAlliance eCommerce. An unauthenticated remote attacker can read, write, and potentially execute commands on the backend Microsoft SQL Server via a crafted sUserID parameter value containing a single quote and stacked SQL query.

Risk Assessment

The vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to gain full access to the database, including data theft or modification and potential command execution on the SQL server. This can lead to customer data leakage and backend system compromise.

Recommendation

Update Channel Software WebAlliance eCommerce to a patched version as soon as possible and implement input validation and parameterized SQL queries in the GetUser method. Until patched, restrict access to the /preapproval.asmx endpoint.
