CVE-2026-104680
HighCVSS 7.2Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk23th percentile - higher than 23% of all known CVEs
Summary
The Envira Gallery WordPress plugin before 1.16.2 does not verify that a user holds the capability WordPress reserves for installing plugins before processing its setup-wizard installation request. This allows a Multisite subsite Administrator to install an arbitrary WordPress.org-published plugin into the network-shared plugin directory, a privilege Multisite reserves for the network Super Admin.
Risk Assessment
A subsite Administrator in a Multisite installation can install arbitrary plugins from the WordPress.org repository across the entire network, violating the privilege model and potentially leading to installation of malicious or unwanted code on all sites in the network.
Recommendation
Update the Envira Gallery plugin to version 1.16.2 or later. Additionally, consider restricting plugin installation capabilities in Multisite installations to the Super Admin only.
