CVE-2026-103993

MediumCVSS 6.8
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

An out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an adjacent attacker sending a specific set of BGP communities to cause a denial of service (DoS) as rpd crashes when the graceful-shutdown sender community is added during advertisement.

Risk Assessment

An adjacent attacker can crash the routing daemon, leading to routing disruption and loss of network connectivity. However, this requires access to a BGP session.

Recommendation

Upgrade Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved to the latest fixed versions. Restrict BGP session access to trusted neighbors only.
