1th percentile - higher than 1% of all known CVEs

Summary

The macOS version of the DigiD app is not signed with Hardened Runtime. This allows a local process to load its own dylib into DigiD via DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES. An attacker with local user-level code execution can execute arbitrary code within the app, gaining access to DigiD data and cryptographic capabilities.

Risk Assessment

The risk involves potential compromise of DigiD data and cryptographic functions by a local attacker, which could lead to confidentiality and integrity breaches.

Recommendation

It is recommended to sign the DigiD app for macOS with Hardened Runtime enabled and implement mechanisms to prevent library injection, such as code integrity checks.

The macOS version of the DigiD app is not signed with Hardened Runtime. As a result, a local process can load its own dylib into DigiD via DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES. An attacker with local user-level code execution can execute arbitrary code within the macOS version of the DigiD app, thereby gaining access to DigiD data and cryptographic capabilities that the process normally does not have.
