Summary

An improper validation of specified quantity in input vulnerability in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows a remote unauthenticated BGP peer to cause an rpd crash via a malformed BGP-signaled SRv6 service route when SRv6 dynamic tunnels are enabled.

Risk Assessment

A BGP peer attacker can remotely crash the routing daemon, leading to network disruption and loss of connectivity.

Recommendation

Update Junos OS/Junos OS Evolved to a version containing the fix; if SRv6 is not required, consider disabling SRv6 dynamic tunnels.
