CVE-2026-101335
MediumCVSS 6.5Summary
The Forminator Forms plugin for WordPress (versions up to and including 1.58.1) allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes because forminator_replace_quiz_form_data() invokes do_shortcode() on the notification body after the {quiz_result} merge tag is substituted, while earlier-substituted {user_agent} and {refer_url} tags carry attacker-controlled bytes that are not stripped of shortcode delimiters. Submitting a quiz whose notification template contains {quiz_result} is sufficient.
Risk Assessment
The impact depends on shortcodes exposed by other installed plugins and themes and can range from content injection to information disclosure.
Recommendation
Update the Forminator Forms plugin to a version later than 1.58.1, or disable it until a fix is applied if updating is not possible.
Other vulnerabilities in Forminator Forms
See all- CVE-2026-103911Medium
The Forminator Forms plugin for WordPress (versions up to and including 1.58.1) allows unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes because a value passed to do_shortcode is not properly validated. Exploitation is possible on any block-theme install via a single unauthenticated GET request to the search results page or by submitting an anonymous comment, with no Forminator-specific content required.
- CVE-2026-92144High
The Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'postdata-1[post-custom]' Parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.57.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The required form submission nonce is freely obtainable by unauthenticated users via the publicly accessible wp_ajax_nopriv_forminator_get_nonce endpoint, making the full attack chain exploitable without any authentication or prior account.
- CVE-2026-92229Critical
The Forminator Forms plugin for WordPress (versions up to and including 1.57.2) is vulnerable to arbitrary shortcode execution. This is due to the software allowing users to execute an action that does not properly validate a value before running do_shortcode. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes.
- CVE-2026-15748Critical
The Forminator Forms plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Upload in all versions up to, and including, 1.56.1 via the handle_file_upload function. This is due to insufficient file type validation in handle_file_upload, where the dangerous-extension blocklist performs exact-key matching that is bypassed by pipe-alternative MIME type keys, combined with a public submission handler that trusts attacker-controlled upload field configuration injected via a forged Select field value. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to upload files that may be executable, which makes remote code execution possible.
- CVE-2026-85235High
The Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Rich-Text Textarea Field in all versions up to, and including, 1.57.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Successful exploitation requires an administrator to open the stored submission entry in the Forminator Entries view and interact with the planted link, at which point WordPress core's jQuery-based click handler on '.contextual-help-tabs a' evaluates the entity-decoded href as HTML, firing the attacker's payload in the administrator's authenticated wp-admin session.
- CVE-2026-87071Medium
The Forminator Forms WordPress plugin before 1.57.2.1 does not restrict which metadata keys a form submission may supply, nor does it exclude keys reserved by WordPress. Unauthenticated visitors submitting a public form that collects post content can attach arbitrary metadata to the post their submission creates.
- CVE-2026-87070Medium
The Forminator Forms WordPress plugin before 1.57.2.1 does not verify that a request came from a trusted proxy before preferring client-supplied forwarding headers over the connecting address, and it uses that value both to enforce its per-visitor voting limit and to record who submitted an entry. Unauthenticated visitors can therefore vote without limit on any poll and can choose the address stored against every submission they make.
- CVE-2026-87069Low
The Forminator Forms WordPress plugin before 1.57.2.1 does not perform a nonce, capability or ownership check before running a one-time payment-field migration during the construction of one of its admin screens, which happens on every wp-admin request for any logged-in user. Any authenticated user, including a Subscriber with no permissions, can rewrite the saved field configuration of any form, including a live payment form.
- CVE-2026-18324High
The Forminator Forms plugin for WordPress up to version 1.57.0.1 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Rich-Text Textarea Field. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires the targeted Textarea field to have the Rich-Text editor option enabled.
- CVE-2026-19220Low
The Forminator Forms WordPress plugin before version 1.57.1 does not verify that site registration is enabled on the network before creating a site signup. This allows unauthenticated visitors to create a new site on a WordPress multisite network and gain administrator privileges on it.
Original NVD description (English source)
The Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary Shortcode Execution in versions up to, and including, 1.58.1. This is due to the forminator_replace_quiz_form_data() helper invoking do_shortcode() on the fully expanded notification body once the {quiz_result} merge tag has been substituted, while the earlier-substituted {user_agent} and {refer_url} merge tags carry unauthenticated attacker-controlled bytes (the User-Agent header and the referer_url POST parameter) through sanitize_text_field()/esc_html(), neither of which strip the '[' and ']' shortcode delimiters. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary WordPress shortcodes registered on the site by submitting a quiz whose notification template contains {quiz_result}; the resulting impact depends on the shortcodes exposed by other installed plugins/themes and can range from arbitrary content injection to information disclosure.
