CVE Catalog

CVE-2026-101311

Unknown
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In bhyve's framebuffer device model, maximum resolution constants were duplicated between the framebuffer and RFB modules and got out of sync. Additionally, writes to the framebuffer BAR could set arbitrary width and height values without validation, and the framebuffer BAR I/O and RFB rendering threads were not synchronized.

Risk Assessment

A malicious guest can crash the bhyve process or potentially execute arbitrary code in the host userspace context, subject to bhyve's Capsicum sandbox. Affects bhyve virtualization environments.

Recommendation

Update bhyve to a version containing fixes for size validation and thread synchronization. Restrict guest privileges and keep the Capsicum sandbox enabled.
