CVE-2026-101272

LowCVSS 2.3
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.35%

28th percentile - higher than 28% of all known CVEs

Summary

The mechanism binding files generated during a shredding process to the authentication method is not working correctly and the same session token is used for all token-based API users. This is similar to an issue fixed in 2026.7.1 but was missed while creating the fix. Since the files are referred to by randomly generated UUIDs and only exist for a day, there is virtually no risk, but it renders the added protection mechanism useless.

Risk Assessment

The added protection mechanism is ineffective, which may facilitate unauthorized access to shredding files in specific scenarios. Due to random UUIDs and the short file lifetime, the actual risk is very low.

Recommendation

Update pretix to a version containing the fix for this issue. Do not rely solely on the session token binding mechanism to protect shredding files.

As part of the fix, we have also improved hardening of some other related code areas.
