CVE-2025-9066
HighCVSS 8.7Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk38th percentile - higher than 38% of all known CVEs
Summary
A security issue was discovered within FactoryTalk® ViewPoint, allowing unauthenticated attackers to achieve XXE. Certain SOAP requests can be abused to perform XXE, resulting in a temporary denial-of-service.
Risk Assessment
An unauthenticated attacker could cause temporary unavailability of the service, potentially disrupting industrial operations or production processes. It may also be possible to read local files depending on configuration.
Recommendation
It is recommended to update FactoryTalk® ViewPoint to the latest version containing the fix. Also, restrict network access to the service and monitor SOAP requests for suspicious patterns.
