Summary

In Grav prior to 1.8.0-beta.27, users with read access to the user account management section of the admin panel can view password hashes of all users, including the admin. This exposure can potentially lead to privilege escalation if an attacker cracks these hashes.

Risk Assessment

Organizations using Grav are at risk of credential theft and privilege escalation, which could lead to full system compromise. The risk is especially high if passwords are weak or susceptible to dictionary attacks.

Recommendation

Update Grav to version 1.8.0-beta.27 or later. Additionally, consider forcing a password reset for all users and enforcing strong password policies.
