2th percentile - higher than 2% of all known CVEs

Summary

Mattermost versions 11.0.x <= 11.0.4, 10.12.x <= 10.12.2, 10.11.x <= 10.11.6 and Mattermost Calls <= 1.10.0 fail to implement CSRF protection on the Calls widget page. An authenticated attacker can initiate calls and inject messages into channels or direct messages via a malicious webpage or crafted link.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with a valid account can initiate calls and send messages on behalf of a user without their knowledge, potentially leading to phishing, misinformation, or data leakage within the organization.

Recommendation

Update Mattermost and Mattermost Calls to the latest versions containing the CSRF fix and, where possible, restrict access to the Calls widget.
