CVE-2025-61678
HighCVSS 8.6Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Very high risk99th percentile - higher than 99% of all known CVEs
Summary
The Endpoint Manager module in FreePBX contains an authenticated arbitrary file upload vulnerability affecting the fwbrand parameter. This parameter allows an attacker to change the file path, potentially leading to webshell upload. Authentication with a known username is required.
Risk Assessment
Authenticated users can upload arbitrary files to attacker-controlled paths on the server, potentially leading to remote code execution and full system compromise.
Recommendation
Upgrade to version 16.0.92 for FreePBX 16 or 17.0.6 for FreePBX 17, which contain the fix.
Other vulnerabilities in FreePBX Endpoint Manager
See all- CVE-2025-64328HighActively exploited
The Endpoint Manager module in FreePBX, in versions 17.0.2.36 and above before 17.0.3, is vulnerable to post-authentication command injection by an authenticated known user. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to gain remote access to the system as an asterisk user.
- CVE-2025-61675High
The Endpoint Manager module in FreePBX contains authenticated SQL injection vulnerabilities affecting multiple parameters in the basestation, model, firmware, and custom extension configuration areas. Authentication with a known username is required.
- CVE-2025-67513Medium
FreePBX Endpoint Manager is a module for managing telephony endpoints in FreePBX systems. Versions prior to 16.0.96 and 17.0.1 through 17.0.9 have a weak default password. By default, this is a 6 digit numeric value which can be brute forced. (This is the app_password parameter). Depending on local configuration, this password could be the extension, voicemail, user manager, DPMA or EPM phone admin password. This issue is fixed in versions 16.0.96 and 17.0.10.
- CVE-2025-59051High
The FreePBX Endpoint Manager module includes a Network Scanning feature that provides web-based access to nmap functionality. In Endpoint Manager 16 before 16.0.92 and 17 before 17.0.6, insufficiently sanitized user-supplied input allows authenticated OS command execution as the asterisk user. Authentication with a known username is required.
Original NVD description (English source)
FreePBX Endpoint Manager is a module for managing telephony endpoints in FreePBX systems. In versions prior to 16.0.92 for FreePBX 16 and versions prior to 17.0.6 for FreePBX 17, the Endpoint Manager module contains an authenticated arbitrary file upload vulnerability affecting the fwbrand parameter. The fwbrand parameter allows an attacker to change the file path. Combined, these issues can result in a webshell being uploaded. Authentication with a known username is required to exploit this vulnerability. Successful exploitation allows authenticated users to upload arbitrary files to attacker-controlled paths on the server, potentially leading to remote code execution. This issue has been patched in version 16.0.92 for FreePBX 16 and version 17.0.6 for FreePBX 17.
