Summary

The Blackmagic Web Presenter HD firmware version 3.3 exposes sensitive information via an unauthenticated Telnet service on port 9977. When connected, the service reveals extensive device configuration data including model, version, unique identifiers, network settings (IP, MAC, DNS), current stream platform, stream key, streaming URL, and audio/video configuration. This data can be used to hijack live streams or perform network reconnaissance.

Risk Assessment

Disclosure of the stream key and network configuration may allow an attacker to hijack live streams or conduct further network attacks. The risk includes breach of confidentiality and integrity of broadcasts.

Recommendation

Update Blackmagic Web Presenter HD firmware to the latest version if the vendor provides a fix. Until then, restrict access to port 9977 to trusted networks and consider rotating the stream key.
