Summary

The example DAG `example_dag_decorator` in Apache Airflow had a non-validated parameter that allowed a UI user to redirect the example to a malicious server and execute code on a worker. This required example DAGs to be enabled in production (not default) or the example code to be copied into a custom DAG.

Risk Assessment

If example DAGs are enabled in production, an attacker could execute arbitrary code on Airflow workers, potentially leading to infrastructure compromise.

Recommendation

Update Airflow to version 3.0.5 or later and review any custom DAGs based on `example_dag_decorator`, applying the changes from that release.

Original NVD description (English source)

An example dag `example_dag_decorator` had non-validated parameter that allowed the UI user to redirect the example to a malicious server and execute code on worker. This however required that the example dags are enabled in production (not default) or the example dag code copied to build your own similar dag. If you used the `example_dag_decorator` please review it and apply the changes implemented in Airflow 3.0.5 accordingly.
