HighCVSS 7.5
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.35%

26th percentile - higher than 26% of all known CVEs

Summary

When a virtual server, network address translation (NAT) object, or secure network address translation (SNAT) object uses the embedded Packet Velocity Acceleration (ePVA) feature, undisclosed traffic can cause the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) to terminate.

Risk Assessment

An attacker could remotely crash TMM, potentially disrupting network traffic processing and causing unavailability of services provided by BIG-IP.

Recommendation

Update BIG-IP to a version containing the fix. Identify which BIG-IP platforms have an ePVA chip (K12837) and prioritize them.
