Summary
A server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability exists in Liferay Portal 7.4.0 through 7.4.3.131 and Liferay DXP 2024.Q4.0 through 2024.Q4.7, 2024.Q3.0 through 2024.Q3.13, 2024.Q2.0 through 2024.Q2.13, and 2024.Q1.1 through 2024.Q1.20 affecting custom object attachment fields. This flaw allows an attacker to manipulate the application into making unauthorized requests to other instances, creating new object entries that link to external resources.
Risk Assessment
An attacker can leverage the application to make unauthorized requests to internal or external resources, potentially leading to data leakage or unexpected actions.
Recommendation
Update Liferay Portal/DXP to a patched version or restrict the ability to create custom object attachment fields.
