CVE-2025-36326
LowCVSS 3.7Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk13th percentile - higher than 13% of all known CVEs
Summary
IBM Cognos Controller versions 11.0.0 through 11.0.1 and IBM Controller versions 11.1.0 through 11.1.1 could allow an attacker to obtain sensitive information due to the use of hardcoded cryptographic keys for signing session cookies. The vulnerability enables potential session spoofing or hijacking.
Risk Assessment
An attacker could exploit the hardcoded keys to forge session cookies and gain unauthorized access to sensitive data or system functions. This could lead to a breach of data confidentiality and integrity.
Recommendation
Update IBM Cognos Controller to a version containing the fix (later than 11.0.1) or IBM Controller to a version later than 11.1.1. If updating is not possible, implement additional access control mechanisms and monitor for suspicious sessions.
