Summary

TRUfusion Enterprise through 7.10.4.0 exposes the encrypted COOKIEID as an authentication mechanism for some endpoints such as /trufusionPortal/getProjectList. However, the application uses a static key to create the encrypted cookie, ultimately allowing anyone to forge cookies and gain access to sensitive internal information.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can impersonate an authenticated user and access sensitive internal organizational data. This represents a serious breach of access controls.

Recommendation

Update TRUfusion Enterprise to a version newer than 7.10.4.0 if available, or implement additional authentication mechanisms and restrict access to portal endpoints.
