Summary

In the Linux kernel, the BPF subsystem's bpf_send_signal() kfunc can be called in non-preemptible contexts, causing issues because it can sleep. The fix changes irqs_disabled() to !preemptible().

Risk Assessment

This can lead to system hangs or unpredictable behavior when BPF programs use bpf_send_signal() in non-preemptible contexts.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version with the fix to ensure signals are sent asynchronously in non-preemptible contexts.

Original NVD description (English source)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Send signals asynchronously if !preemptible BPF programs can execute in all kinds of contexts and when a program running in a non-preemptible context uses the bpf_send_signal() kfunc, it will cause issues because this kfunc can sleep. Change `irqs_disabled()` to `!preemptible()`.
