4th percentile - higher than 4% of all known CVEs

Summary

The Rabbit Hole plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.1. Missing or incorrect nonce validation on the plugin's reset functionality allows an unauthenticated attacker to reset the plugin's settings if they trick a site administrator into clicking a crafted link; the vulnerability is exacerbated by the reset being performed via a GET request, making exploitation trivial via image tags or hyperlinks.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can reset the plugin's settings without the administrator's knowledge, leading to loss of configuration and potential site malfunction. The risk is high because exploitation is very easy (just an image or link).

Recommendation

Update the Rabbit Hole plugin to a version newer than 1.1 as soon as it becomes available, and consider disabling it in the meantime. Additionally, enforce least privilege and educate administrators not to click unknown links.

Original NVD description (English source)

The Rabbit Hole plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to, and including, 1.1. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the plugin's reset functionality. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to reset the plugin's settings via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. The vulnerability is exacerbated by the fact that the reset operation is performed via a GET request, making exploitation trivial via image tags or hyperlinks.
