Summary

The Tainacan plugin for WordPress in all versions up to and including 1.0.0 is vulnerable to Information Exposure via uploaded files marked as private being exposed in wp-content without adequate protection. This allows unauthenticated attackers to extract potentially sensitive information from files marked as private.

Risk Assessment

An unauthenticated attacker can access files that should be private, potentially leading to disclosure of sensitive data. The risk affects sites using Tainacan to store confidential files.

Recommendation

Update the Tainacan plugin to a version later than 1.0.0 if available, or implement server rules blocking direct access to private files in wp-content. Review and secure existing private files.
