CVE-2025-12496
MediumCVSS 4.9Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Elevated risk51th percentile - higher than 51% of all known CVEs
Summary
The Zephyr Project Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 3.3.203 via the `file` parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Custom-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. On servers that have `allow_url_fopen` enabled, this issue allows for Server-Side Request Forgery.
Risk Assessment
An authenticated attacker can read arbitrary files on the server, potentially leading to leakage of configuration data, passwords, or other sensitive information. On servers with allow_url_fopen enabled, SSRF can also be used to interact with internal resources.
Recommendation
Upgrade the Zephyr Project Manager plugin to a version later than 3.3.203 that fixes this vulnerability. If upgrade is not possible, restrict access to the plugin or disable allow_url_fopen.
