Summary

The MapMap plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in all versions up to and including 1.1 due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the admin_shortcode_submit, admin_configuration_submit, and admin_shortcode_delete functions. This allows unauthenticated attackers to update plugin settings and inject malicious web scripts via a forged request if they can trick a site administrator into clicking a link.

Risk Assessment

An attacker could change plugin settings and inject malicious scripts, potentially leading to admin session hijacking or infecting visitors. This requires administrator interaction (clicking a link).

Recommendation

Update the MapMap plugin to a version newer than 1.1 if available, or consider removing it. Inform administrators about the risk of clicking unknown links.
