Summary

In Keycloak, an offline session remains valid when the offline_access scope is removed from the client. The refresh token is still accepted and new tokens can continue to be requested for the session.

Risk Assessment

An administrator may assume that removing the scope disables offline sessions, while they actually remain active, potentially leading to unauthorized access.

Recommendation

Update Keycloak to a version containing the fix and verify that removing the offline_access scope actually invalidates existing offline sessions.
