53th percentile - higher than 53% of all known CVEs

Summary

The CYAN Backup plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the 'delete' functionality in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.4. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Administrator-level access and above to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php).

Risk Assessment

An attacker with administrator privileges can delete critical files such as wp-config.php, potentially leading to remote code execution and full site compromise. The risk is high for sites running the vulnerable plugin version.

Recommendation

Update the CYAN Backup plugin to a version later than 2.5.4. Limit the number of administrator accounts and maintain regular file backups.
