Summary

The qnotsquiz plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the 'qnotsquiz_custom_start_text' parameter in all versions up to and including 1.0.0 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. An authenticated attacker with administrator-level access can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages that execute when a user visits the injected page.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with administrator privileges can inject malicious scripts that execute in other users' browsers, potentially leading to session theft or data compromise. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.

Recommendation

Update the qnotsquiz plugin to the latest version that fixes the vulnerability. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the plugin or restricting administrator access to trusted users.
