Summary

The TableGen – Data Table Generator plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via admin settings in all versions up to and including 1.3.1. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user visits an affected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.

Risk Assessment

The risk primarily affects multi-site environments where an administrator of one site can attack other sites. Injected scripts can steal data or hijack user sessions.

Recommendation

Update the TableGen plugin to the latest patched version. In multi-site environments, additionally restrict administrator permissions and monitor changes in settings.
