Summary

YouDataSum CPAS Audit Management System V4 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files by manipulating the fileId parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /cpasm4/plugInManController/downPlugs with ../ sequences in fileId to retrieve system files like /etc/passwd.

Risk Assessment

Unauthorized reading of configuration and system files is possible, which may expose credentials and facilitate further attacks. This is a serious confidentiality breach.

Recommendation

Update CPAS to the vendor-patched version and verify proper validation of the fileId parameter. Restrict access to the downPlugs endpoint and review logs for path traversal attempts.
