Summary

In the Linux kernel, the an30259a LED driver has a mutex initialization issue. The mutex is destroyed in the module's remove() function but may still be used by the led_set_brightness() callback invoked during automatic LED unregistration, leading to use of a destroyed mutex.

Risk Assessment

May cause system instability or kernel errors when removing the LED driver module, particularly on systems using this driver.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix that uses devm_mutex_init() for mutex lifecycle management.

Original NVD description (English source)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: leds: an30259a: Use devm_mutex_init() for mutex initialization In this driver LEDs are registered using devm_led_classdev_register() so they are automatically unregistered after module's remove() is done. led_classdev_unregister() calls module's led_set_brightness() to turn off the LEDs and that callback uses mutex which was destroyed already in module's remove() so use devm API instead.
