Summary

A vulnerability in the SSL VPN feature of Cisco ASA and FTD Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an unexpected reload of the device, resulting in a denial of service (DoS). The issue is due to a logic error in memory management when handling SSL VPN connections. An attacker could exploit this by sending crafted SSL/TLS packets to the SSL VPN server.

Risk Assessment

The attack can cause device downtime, impacting network service availability and potentially leading to business disruption.

Recommendation

Apply Cisco-provided updates for ASA and FTD software. Restrict access to the SSL VPN interface to trusted sources only.
