Summary

In the Linux kernel, a memory leak vulnerability was resolved in the hwmon xgene driver, where ioremap and memremap are not released in xgene_hwmon_probe(). This may cause a resource leak.

Risk Assessment

Leaking memory mappings may lead to resource exhaustion and system instability when the driver is repeatedly loaded.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix that changes ioremap and memremap to devm_ioremap and devm_memremap.
