CVE-2023-3812
HighCVSS 7.8Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk26th percentile - higher than 26% of all known CVEs
Summary
An out-of-bounds memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s TUN/TAP device driver functionality. This allows a local user to generate a malicious networking packet, potentially leading to system crashes or privilege escalation.
Risk Assessment
This flaw poses a risk of system crashes and potential privilege escalation by local users, which could lead to serious security breaches.
Recommendation
It is recommended to update the Linux kernel to the latest version to mitigate this vulnerability and to monitor the system for unauthorized activities.

Kiteworks Email Protection Gateway did not sufficiently restrict which account a certificate could be assigned to. Original NVD description (English source)
An out-of-bounds memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s TUN/TAP device driver functionality in how a user generates a malicious (too big) networking packet when napi frags is enabled. This flaw allows a local user to crash or potentially escalate their privileges on the system.
