CVE-2023-36610

MediumCVSS 5.9
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.41%

32th percentile - higher than 32% of all known CVEs

Summary

Affected TBox RTUs generate software security tokens using insufficient entropy. The random seed used to generate the software tokens is not initialized correctly, and other parts of the token are generated using predictable time-based values.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with this knowledge could successfully brute force the token and authenticate themselves.

Recommendation

It is recommended to improve the token generation algorithm to ensure adequate entropy and avoid predictable time-based values.
