CVE-2023-24581
HighCVSS 7.8Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk14th percentile - higher than 14% of all known CVEs
Summary
Solid Edge SE2022 (All versions < V222.0MP12) and SE2023 (All versions < V223.0Update2) contain a use-after-free vulnerability triggered while parsing specially crafted STP files. An attacker could leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Risk Assessment
Opening a malicious STP file could lead to arbitrary code execution on the user's workstation, risking system compromise and data loss.
Recommendation
Update Solid Edge to V222.0MP12 or V223.0Update2 (or later) and exercise caution when opening STP files from untrusted sources.
Other vulnerabilities in Solid Edge
See all- CVE-2026-50064High
A vulnerability has been identified in Solid Edge SE2025 (All versions < V225.0 Update 15), Solid Edge SE2026 (All versions < V226.0 Update 7). The affected applications contains an out of bounds write vulnerability while parsing specially crafted PSM files. This could allow an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process.
