Summary

In include/asm-generic/tlb.h in the Linux kernel before 5.19, a race condition (unmap_mapping_range versus munmap) can allow a device driver to free a page while it still has stale TLB entries. This only occurs in situations with VM_PFNMAP VMAs.

Risk Assessment

May lead to memory corruption or system crash due to use-after-free of a page, posing a threat to stability and security.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to version 5.19 or later, which contains the fix for this race condition.
