Summary

JeeWMS before commit 0a610e8 contains an unauthenticated path traversal vulnerability that allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via the dbPath parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /systemController/showOrDownByurl.do with ../ sequences in dbPath, which bypasses AuthInterceptor, to retrieve files like win.ini.

Risk Assessment

An unauthenticated attacker can access sensitive system and configuration files, potentially leading to further attack escalation. Exploitation evidence has been observed in the wild.

Recommendation

Update JeeWMS to commit 0a610e8 or later. In the meantime, consider restricting access to the /systemController/showOrDownByurl.do endpoint and monitoring for unusual requests.
