CVE-2021-4464
CriticalSummary
FiberHome AN5506-04-FA firmware up to RP2631 and HG6245D before RP2602 contain a stack-based buffer overflow in the HTTP service ('webs') due to lack of maximum length enforcement for Cookie header values. Processing a cookie longer than 511 bytes overruns a stack buffer, leading to a crash or potential control of execution flow.
Risk Assessment
An attacker can cause a device crash or potentially execute arbitrary code, compromising the integrity and availability of the network device.
Recommendation
Upgrade the firmware to a patched version and restrict access to the HTTP service.
Original NVD description (English source)
FiberHome AN5506-04-FA firmware versions up to and including RP2631 and HG6245D prior to RP2602 contain a stack-based buffer overflow, as the HTTP service ('webs') fails to enforce maximum lengths for Cookie header values. When a cookie longer than 511 bytes is processed, a stack buffer is overrun, leading to a crash or potential control of execution flow.
