Summary

On Samsung Galaxy S3 i9305 devices running 4.4.4, an issue was discovered in the WEP, WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 implementations that accept plaintext A-MSDU frames as long as the first 8 bytes correspond to a valid RFC1042 (LLC/SNAP) header for EAPOL. An adversary can abuse this to inject arbitrary network packets independent of the network configuration.

Risk Assessment

The vulnerability allows an attacker to inject arbitrary network packets, potentially leading to traffic interception, man-in-the-middle attacks, or integrity compromise in Wi-Fi communications.

Recommendation

Apply security updates provided by the device manufacturer or consider using additional protection mechanisms such as VPN to minimize risk.
