CriticalCVSS 9.8KEV
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

An issue was discovered in SaltStack Salt before 2019.2.4 and 3000 before 3000.2. The salt-master process ClearFuncs class does not properly validate method calls, allowing a remote user to access some methods without authentication. Risk Assessment

An attacker can obtain user tokens and execute arbitrary commands on managed servers, leading to full compromise of the Salt-managed infrastructure.

Recommendation

Update SaltStack Salt to version 2019.2.4 or 3000.2 (or later) and restrict network access to salt-master ports.
