CVE-2018-12023
HighCVSS 7.5Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Very high risk95th percentile - higher than 95% of all known CVEs
Summary
A vulnerability in FasterXML jackson-databind before 2.7.9.4, 2.8.11.2 and 2.9.6 occurs when Default Typing is enabled, the Oracle JDBC jar is on the classpath, and an attacker can provide an LDAP service. This allows the service to execute a malicious payload.
Risk Assessment
The vulnerability can lead to remote code execution on an application server processing untrusted JSON data. The risk is especially high in applications using Oracle JDBC with Default Typing enabled.
Recommendation
Upgrade jackson-databind to 2.7.9.4, 2.8.11.2 or 2.9.6 (or later). If possible, disable Default Typing or restrict allowed classes, and remove the Oracle JDBC jar from the classpath if it is not required.

Original NVD description (English source)
An issue was discovered in FasterXML jackson-databind prior to 2.7.9.4, 2.8.11.2, and 2.9.6. When Default Typing is enabled (either globally or for a specific property), the service has the Oracle JDBC jar in the classpath, and an attacker can provide an LDAP service to access, it is possible to make the service execute a malicious payload.
