CVE-2017-6674

A vulnerability in the FTP Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (REST API) for Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass FTP malware detection rules and download malware over an FTP connection.

A vulnerability in the detection engine reassembly of HTTP packets for Cisco Firepower System Software before 6.0.1 could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition due to the Snort process unexpectedly restarting.

Cisco Firepower System Software versions 6.0.0 through 6.1.0 has a hardcoded account that allows remote attackers to gain CLI access if they know the password.

A vulnerability in the Sourcefire tunnel control channel protocol in Cisco Firepower System Software on FTD sensors could allow an authenticated, local attacker to execute specific CLI commands with root privileges on the Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) or through FMC on other Firepower sensors. The issue is due to insufficient checks for certain CLI commands when executed via a Sourcefire tunnel. An attacker with root privileges on at least one sensor or FMC could send commands, potentially modifying configurations or deleting files.

A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass configured file action policies if Intelligent Application Bypass (IAB) with a drop percentage threshold is also configured. The issue is due to incorrect counting of dropped traffic percentage. An attacker could send network traffic to the device, bypassing policies and allowing traffic that should be dropped.

A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured file action policy to drop the SMB protocol if a malware file is detected. The issue is due to how SMB handles a case where a large file transfer fails. An attacker could send a crafted SMB file transfer request through the device, allowing an SMB file containing malware to pass.

A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured file action policy intended to drop SMB2 and SMB3 protocols if malware is detected. The issue is due to incorrect detection of SMB2/SMB3 files based on total file length. An attacker could exploit this by sending a crafted SMB2 or SMB3 transfer request through the targeted device.

A vulnerability in the detection engine of Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass file policies configured to block files transmitted via the BitTorrent protocol. The issue is due to incorrect detection of BitTorrent handshake messages. An attacker could exploit this by sending a crafted BitTorrent connection request to an affected device.

A vulnerability in the detection engine handling SSL packets for Cisco Firepower System Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition because the Snort process unexpectedly restarts. This affects versions prior to the first fixed release when configured with an SSL Decrypt-Resign policy.
