CVE-2016-1954

High
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

The nsCSPContext::SendReports function in Mozilla Firefox before version 45.0 and Firefox ESR 38.x before version 38.7 does not prevent the use of a non-HTTP report-uri for Content Security Policy (CSP) violation reports. Risk Assessment

Organizations may be exposed to attacks that lead to denial of service or unauthorized access to local resources. Exploiting this vulnerability could result in serious data security consequences.

Recommendation

It is recommended to update Mozilla Firefox to the latest version to mitigate the risks associated with this vulnerability. Additionally, monitoring and restricting the use of local files in CSP reports is advisable.
