CVE-2010-5330

CriticalCVSS 9.8KEV
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

On certain Ubiquiti devices, command injection exists via a GET request to stainfo.cgi (Show AP info) because the ifname variable is not sanitized, allowing shell metacharacters. Fixed versions are v4.0.1 for 802.11 ISP products, v5.3.5 for AirMax ISP products, and v5.4.5 for AirSync firmware. For example, Nanostation5 (Air OS) is affected.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can remotely execute arbitrary commands on the device's operating system, leading to full compromise of the network device. This may result in data theft, configuration changes, or using the device as a foothold for further attacks.

Recommendation

Update the firmware immediately to the recommended version (v4.0.1, v5.3.5, or v5.4.5 depending on the product). If updating is not possible, restrict access to the device management interface to trusted networks only.
