CVE-2008-1139

High
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

A vulnerability in DESlock+ version 3.2.6 and earlier, when DLMFENC.sys 1.0.0.26 and DLMFDISK.sys 1.2.0.27 are present, allows a local user to gain privileges by sending a specially crafted DLMFENC_IOCTL request to the \.\DLKPFSD_Device device, which overwrites a pointer and leads to code execution in kernel context.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with local access can gain full control over the system, potentially leading to data theft, malware installation, or permanent system damage.

Recommendation

Immediately update DESlock+ to a version newer than 3.2.6 and remove or update the DLMFENC.sys and DLMFDISK.sys drivers to versions without the vulnerability.
