CVE Catalog

CVE-2006-4375

High
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

PHP remote file inclusion vulnerability in contxtd.class.php in the Contacts XTD (com_contxtd) component for Mambo allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the mosConfig_absolute_path parameter. Another researcher has disputed this issue, saying that the software prevents the attack by checking whether _VALID_MOS is defined.

Risk Assessment

If the vulnerability is real, an attacker could remotely execute arbitrary PHP code on the server, leading to full system compromise. Due to the dispute between researchers, the risk may be lower but requires verification.

Recommendation

Verify whether the used version of the component includes the _VALID_MOS check; if not, update the component or apply a patch. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the component.
