CVE Catalog

CVE-2006-0586

High
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities were found in Oracle 10g Release 1 before the January 2006 CPU in the SYS.KUPV$FT and SYS.KUPV$FT_INT packages. Remote attackers can execute arbitrary SQL commands via parameters in functions like ATTACH_JOB, HAS_PRIVS, OPEN_JOB, and others. Oracle's advisory lacks details, so it is unclear if these issues were fixed.

Risk Assessment

The organization risks remote compromise of the Oracle database, potentially leading to data theft, modification, or deletion, and loss of system integrity.

Recommendation

Apply the latest Oracle Critical Patch Update (CPU) immediately or upgrade to a version beyond 10g Release 1. If patching is not possible, restrict access to the vulnerable functions via firewall rules and privilege management.
