An attacker can remotely take control of the NetBackup server, leading to compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of backup data and the entire infrastructure.
Recommendation
Immediately apply the patch provided by the vendor (VERITAS) for affected versions (5.0 MP1-MP5, 5.1 up to MP3A) or upgrade to a newer, non-vulnerable version of the software.
