Risk Assessment
An attacker can take control of the user's system who uses a vulnerable version of Emacs or XEmacs to retrieve email from a malicious POP3 server.
Recommendation
It is recommended to immediately update Emacs to version 21.4 or later and XEmacs to version 21.5 or later, and avoid using untrusted POP3 servers.
